[edit]The caption for the photo of Alvin Kraenzlein was unnecessarily categorized for early deletion--tainting the look of this article. The photo itself is listed as pubic domain and certainly not subject to deletion. I will remove the early deletion notice and rhetorically have to ask why people put these stupid remarks into articles. User:Trackinfo —Preceding undated comment added 23:22, 10 August 2009 (UTC).
Top ten
[edit]The top ten table shold have the top ten athletes not the top ten performances. At least that is how all the other events do the top ten. If the mens polevault was top ten performances it would be all Bubka. Below are the top performances, as of June 2007, with the ten athletes linked:
Pos. | Time | Athlete | Country | Venua | Date |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 12.88 +1.1 | Liu Xiang | China | Lausanne | 11.07.2006 |
2 | 12.90 +1.1 | Dominique Arnold | United States | Lausanne | 11.07.2006 |
3 | 12.91 +0.5 | Colin Jackson | United Kingdom | Stuttgart | 20.08.1993 |
12.91 +0.3 | Liu Xiang | China | Athens | 27.08.2004 | |
4 | 12.92 -0.1 | Roger Kingdom | United States | Zürich | 16.08.1989 |
4 | 12.92 +0.9 | Allen Johnson | United States | Atlanta | 23.06.1996 |
12.92 +0.2 | Allen Johnson | United States | Bruxelles | 23.08.1996 | |
12.92 +1.5 | Liu Xiang | China | New York City | 02.06.2007 | |
6 | 12.93 -0.2 | Renaldo Nehemiah | United States | Zürich | 19.08.1981 |
12.93 ±0.0 | Allen Johnson | United States | Athens | 07.08.1997 | |
12.93 -0.6 | Liu Xiang | China | Stuttgart | 09.09.2006 | |
7 | 12.94 +1.6 | Jack Pierce | United States | Atlanta | 22.06.1996 |
12.95 +0.6 | Allen Johnson | United States | Atlanta | 29.07.1996 | |
8 | 12.95 +1.5 | Terrence Trammell | United States | New York City | 02.06.2007 |
12.96 +0.4 | Allen Johnson | United States | Athens | 17.09.2006 | |
12.97A +2.0 | Roger Kingdom | United States | Sestriere | 11.08.1988 | |
12.97A -1.6 | Colin Jackson | United Kingdom | Sestriere | 28.07.1993 | |
12.97 -0.5 | Allen Johnson | United States | Stuttgart | 13.07.1997 | |
12.97 +1.5 | Allen Johnson | United States | Sacramento | 23.07.2000 | |
12.97 ±0.0 | Allen Johnson | United States | Saint-Denis | 04.07.2003 | |
9 | 12.97 +1.0 | Ladji Doucouré | France | Angers | 15.07.2005 |

12.98 +0.2 | Allen Johnson | United States | Köln | 18.08.1995 | |
12.98 -0.3 | Allen Johnson | United States | Zürich | 12.08.1998 | |
10 | 12.98 +0.6 | Mark Crear | United States | Zagreb | 05.07.1999 |
Consequently this would look like the following in the article:

6 | 12.93 -0.2 | Renaldo Nehemiah | United States | Zürich | 19.08.1981 |
7 | 12.94 +1.6 | Jack Pierce | United States | Atlanta | 22.06.1996 |
8 | 12.95 +1.5 | Terrence Trammell | United States | New York City | 02.06.2007 |
9 | 12.97 +1.0 | Ladji Doucouré | France | Angers | 15.07.2005 |
10 | 12.98 +0.6 | Mark Crear | United States | Zagreb | 05.07.1999 |
I will place this latter table into the article. David D. (Talk) 04:28, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Progression of world record.
[edit]I have removed Dominique Arnold from the progression of the world record as even though he has the second fastest time it was never the world record as it was set in the same race as Liu Xiang--Greatestrowerever (talk) 15:59, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Top 25 times update
[edit]Sasha Zhoya ran a personal best in the 110m hurdles of 12.87s with legal wind in July 2019. https://www.iaaf.org/athletes/australia/sasha-zhoya-316935 The table of the top 25 times should be updated to reflect this. Poemisaglock (talk) 02:05, 18 October 2019 (UTC)
- That mark is a world youth best. From that I would assume it was over 39" (.99m) hurdles. Obviously a good time, but it is not over the the open divisions hurdle height and not comparable. Trackinfo (talk) 02:41, 18 October 2019 (UTC)
